University engineering program

Launch a focused technical engineering career in R&D, Operations or Quality through the hands-on opportunities of the Edwards University Engineering Program. Pair up with a dedicated senior-level engineer for mentorship guidance — a resource to help you navigate your way through our culture and your professional development as you dive deep into rigorous and appealing projects. Your work will be concentrated in one of four business units: cardiac surgery systems, critical care, heart valve therapies, or transcatheter heart valves. The program culminates with direct entry into an engineering role, one that gives you the chance to make your mark in research, product development, manufacturing, or quality.

Become a part of our culture

In addition to the ongoing guidance and support you’ll receive from a dedicated senior-level engineering mentor, we pave the way for your success through the Edwards university summer program. Our program offers exposure to different perspectives while fostering connections with peers and mentors throughout the organization.

Get the most out of your program

The tools you need to begin your pursuit of a meaningful career with real impact are within your reach at Edwards. Those who are most likely to excel in the University Engineering Program have had some technical exposure in lean/six sigma, commercialization, research & development, manufacturing, or quality engineering, along with projects, work experience, or internships that demonstrate technical capability. You’ll also want to leverage your existing engineering and technical knowledge, plus your ability to work effectively with a diverse team. Finally, exceptional analytical abilities along with strong communication and collaboration skills balance the characteristics needed for a successful career.

How to apply

Initial interviews are typically conducted on select university campuses during fall visits. This allows our managers, technical experts and program alumni to get a better sense of your talents and goals while helping you understand more about the program. To be considered, submit your resume to your campus career center in the Fall. Resume submission deadlines are typically one to two weeks after campus fairs. Even if you’re not a student at one of the universities we visit, we encourage you to apply through our website.

Finalists from our campus interviews are invited to our global headquarters in Irvine, California, to participate in a multi-interview process. Plus, candidates get to tour the facilities, meet current employees, and explore the beauty of Irvine and its surrounding communities. Offers are extended in November for February or July start dates.
