Operating Principle
The operating principle of the VMAL Condensate Pump Station is straightforward.
Condensate discharged from steam traps flows by gravity into the pump receiver tank.
When the condensate level reaches the preset point, the level controller activates the motive fluid valve. Steam or compressed air is then introduced into the pumping chamber.
The motive steam or compressed air acts as the driving force, applying pressure to the condensate and pushing it through the discharge line to the condensate return tank or recovery point.
Once the liquid level falls to the lower set point, the motive valve closes automatically. The receiver tank begins collecting condensate again, preparing for the next pumping cycle.
This entire process operates automatically and continuously. The pumping frequency depends on the actual condensate generation rate of the steam system.
